Jack and the Magical Beings Talk

Jack’s path to massage traces back to the spring of 2007, when he was called to South America to study Yoga with a teacher in Buenos Aires.  While there, he enrolled in an Abhyanga Massage training (part of the canon of Ayurvedic medicine).  The seed was planted.  Following a trip to Thailand and Burma in 2011 to explore the roots of Vipassana Meditation, Jack apprenticed with a Thai Buddhist Bodywork practitioner in Indiana.  In 2014, South America called again and Jack was sent to rural Paraguay with the Peace Corps to work with farmers in a land with depleted resources.  After a misunderstanding involving a cow, Jack was uninvited from his position.  Lost and far from home, he stumbled upon a mystical vine.  Curiosity gripped him and he climbed high, very high.  Entering into another realm, Jack found himself surrounded by three magical beings who simultaneously intoned three syllables.  At first, all he heard was, “Blah, Blah, Blah.”  Although their language was unrecognizable, he understood that each being had given him a message.  The first message was, “We are Magical Beings.” Jack understood that this “we” was referring to humans.  The second was: “Use your hands!”  This message was clearly referring to massage but Jack was slow to acknowledge it.  The third message is yet to be revealed.

In March 2022, a longtime friend of Jack’s died after a relatively brief visit from Cancer.  At 39 years of age, Lindsay Mallers left behind two young daughters, an adoring husband, and a sizeable group of admirers who marveled at her dedication to her meditation, yoga, and massage therapy practice.  During an open-air cremation ceremony held in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains just outside of Boulder, Colorado, Lindsay’s spirit invited Jack to listen to the directive of the Magical Beings and he decided it was indeed time to return to the path of massage.  In October of 2023, Jack obtained his Massage Therapy License for the state of Maine.
